Our Client, a joint venture between two of Europe’s largest energy companies, was awarded the rights to develop an offshore wind farm consisting of of approximately 7200MW of wind capacity off the coast of East Anglia, known as Zone 5 under the Crown Estate Round 3 Offshore Wind Farm Licensing Arrangements. The total capital investment is estimated at several US$ billion over the next 10 years.
We were appointed to provide professional advice related to the commercial assessment and contracting of suitable port facilities, to support the construction, operation and maintenance of the project.
Working as part of the Client’s project development team, our services related to the pricing and contracting and other port related commercial elements of the project, and spanned the period 2011 – 2013. This involved advising on port contracting structures, negotiating heads of terms etc.
We applied a model contacting structure which helped to identify the various agreements and relationship that would potentially be required.
