Ferry Study and Port Development Plan, Malta
The Malta Maritime Authority appointed Fisher Associates to undertake the twin studies:
- Feasibility study for development of ferry services between Gozo and Sicily: This assesses the feasibility of a new direct service linking Gozo and Sicily, including considering the market potential, the options for the service, and infrastructure requirements.
- Formulation of a Strategic Plan for Port of Mgarr, Gozo: This looks at the all sectors of port traffic, with a view to identifying future infrastructure needs and preparing a Masterplan based on best practice.
Local partners Europa Research and Consultancy Services assisted with assessing the economic and financial feasibility of the two projects. (2007)
